A Bishop Saint (Burchard of Wurzburg?) A renaissance carving by Tilman Riemenschneider, Germany circa 1515/1520. Samuel H. Kress Collection at the Smithsonian in Washington DC.  I like the reality of this carving and the reflective nature of his expression.
